OAuth is compatible with OpenID, it's not a replacement for it. In fact, we specifically left out how you identify yourself so folks like Google and Yahoo can use it with their account system. It is not a Passport-like single sign-on solution. Instead it's only how you gain access to your account resources without giving away your username and password to the consuming site.
