If you're using the VPN over that same connection you're complaining about, you're still using the same bandwidth, unless you're remote desktopping to your office or home computer to do the downloads instead...??

He was using "third world country" sarcastically, since many Americans would think of a backwards place when they hear UAE, but they still have much better Internet access than much of the US. He wasn't actually saying that it is a third world country.You just need to recalibrate your sarcasm meter. It's stuck on "kneejerk".
