tuaw.com — AT&T seems to be using pretty underhanded tactics to get prepaid iPhone users to move over to new plans. They're also requiring those users to sign new 2 year contracts even if they aren't purchasing a new handset.

LOL to all the bums who want a sweet peice of hardware and no obligations. This is the world we live in. On that note smells like AT&T is worried about something.. OR this smells like an experiment by apple to see just how far people are willing to go just to have an iphone or apple product period. can't tell what yet. But we'll know soon enough.

I hope this whole iPhone/AT&T mess snowballs out of control. Top story on CNN, Fox, MSNBC would be great. Egg in their face I say.

If a cell phone company can't do GSM, well they really are bad at innovation.

I did read the article again. It's a software update also known as firmware 3.0. Hello, this is an apple update, AT&T don't edit Apple's firmware...as such it would be apple killing it.

Be glad you don't have to deal with Rogers.Check out the upgrade prices.http://digg.com/apple/Evidence_that_Rogers_is_wors ...

Wake up people! You really think AT&T can stop prepaid users from using the data they are paying for? I upgraded to 3.0 and was without data for 15 minutes. Just follow the instruction in the link below, takes 2 seconds and the phone doesnt even need to be jailbroken. Stupid AT&T.http://www.modmyi.com/forums/general/630101-solved ...
