Your "unlimited data" is capped at 5GB, and it sucks that you don't get unlimited texts.Verizon's unlimited plans have 5GB data, unlimited texts and the 450 minute plan can be as low as $55/month if you get an employee discount.
karma has it in for these butt-heads (apple and at&t - you can only eat your customers alive for so long before the backlash shall begin!) ... and um... yeah... PAY... extra(?).. (Oh wait, my "unlimited" data plan is not unlimited after all huh!!??). for .. Tethering?!!?? -- HELL NO , GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ONE!! LMFAO!!!
Agreed. T-Mobile's biggest liability is their coverage, but if you live in an area with good T-Mobile coverage, you really do get the best bang/buck and most flexible plan options. I'm in Portland, OR (3G territory) and my wife has a G1 and it's awesome! $80/month gets her data plan (including texts), me 400 text messages on my imported GSM phone and both of us a "family" plan with unlimited calls to each-other and 1000 minutes for everything else, which we rarely use more than 1/3 of. I hear the typical iPhone costs $60/month on AT&T just by itself. There's wifi at work and at home, so I keep an iPod Touch for all the non-talking/texting stuff. Works great!
Its fair that you guys have had bad experiences with ATT but I've been using them for 2 years now and can't remember ever having a dropped call. I get service everywhere I go and have never had to correct a single bill. It's all been automatic and correct. Plus with Family talk bundles it brings my 3GS plan down to $55 a month. Pretty good for Voice, Data and Text.
No they're not. My family actually has Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile service. The important thing to remember is that the quality of cell phone service greatly depends on the area. I know when I go to West Virginia my sister on T-Mobile won't have any signal, while our AT&T and Verizon phones will. I also know that in my house I'll barely have signal on AT&T, while Verizon has none. This is why any sort of article about the quality of cell phone service that isn't based on a specific small area is stupid.Overall, they all have signal and work fine in high traffic areas (highway, city, etc).

Won't happen. There will not be a CDMA iPhone.

A couple days ago, ATT service completely disappeared in Hawaii...I was left without service for 10 f**kING HOURS! Most people went 12 hours without reception...here is a news article showing just how big of a deal this was:http://www.kitv.com/money/20133188/detail.html
