arstechnica.com — Project Lightspeed may be slowed down considerably, according to one industry analyst. His reasoning? It's not going to be fast enough. It also means that AT&T fiber customers will have their broadband speeds capped at 6Mbps, as AT&T will be reserving the rest of the 25Mbps node-to-home link for its IPTV programming.

Why do these companies act surprised that municipalities want to develop free wireless internet for the town? The US has molasses speed internet compared to the rest of the planet.

Can we file a class action lawsuit? I want the fiber to the curb they promised us.http://www.newnetworks.com/prreleaseFTCcomplaint.htm

I imagine then that you've been to very few places on this planet, most of which are in much worse a state, unless "the rest of the planet" to you means "Tokyo."American self-deprication always amazes me. It used to be, you couldn't convince an American that anything about them could possibly be less than the best, much less sub-standard. Now it seems you can't convince one that anything remotely associated with their country could possibly be anything but dreck. As an American, I find that sad.

My torrents freakin' ROCK.Pictures of my fiber and modem: http://www.backwardsfish.com/wordpress/?p=175Link to my ISP pricing if you don't believe me: https://asahi-net.jp/en/service/fletshikari/Note: $30 goes to "Ma Bell NTT" for the fiber and $10 goes to my my ISP for an IP address.
