It's hard to imagine recording a PPV broadcast for any reason other than piracy. It's pay-per-view -- you can order it when you're ready to watch it. Recording a PPV movie is not a 'legitimate' way to get a personal copy, regardless of the fact that we've been doing it since VHS -- meaning if you're using DVR on your Pay-per-view purchases, you're not an honest customer anyway. Actual honest customers will be completely unaffected by this.
"This is not a Republican or Democrat problem, albeit the further to the left the system leans the more leverage can be applied on your personal assets and freedoms"The last 7 years or so most definitely prove otherwise, and it's really been that way for much longer than that. I'm not saying that the current crop of Democrats is any better (because they aren't; both sides have sold out the American public in favor of corporatism), but the infestation and usurpation of the GOP by extreme religious fundamentalists/pro-lifers, chickenhawks and neocons has drastically changed the political landscape in this country, and the true conservatives out there have been strangely slow to pick up on that fact (they don't want to admit to themselves what their once respectable party has become, perhaps, and that they really no longer have a party representing their interests -- then again, the progressive/liberals are in the same boat). Other than that, good post.
I support the death of the movie theatre which charges $10+ for a movie and the same for a movie and a popcorn/candy. Going to a freaking movie should not be more expensive than a DVD!I love seeing movies but the price is ridiculous.
Most (if not all) Blu-Rays I own are in MPEG-2. That's not an issue with PPV, and there is no reason MPEG-2 can't be just as high quality. It just takes up more space. Really, they could squeeze MORE channels on the line using AVC or VC-1.
It's not antisemitic, It's anti-fascist and trying to remind a certain group who should "Never Forget" how that s**t got started. Because THEY are now doing it.

Not really. Comcast already blocks DVR recording of On Demand movies and specials on their DVR.
