engadget.com— Whoa -- we were just sent AT&T response to the FCC's investigation into the rejection of Google Voice apps from the iPhone app store, and Ma Bell isn't pulling any punches.

Well that was intelligent. You realize that most iPhone owners are tech illiterate, right? The tech community is this teeeny little market that neither Apple nor AT&T really give a s**t about because we really don't matter in the grand scheme of things.
How about Google Voice isn't out in public beta. It is invite only That is probably the main reason why the kept it out of the app store. Not every one can use it.
There were a few Google Voice apps that were already approved, then pulled when the official app was "still under review" (english translation: rejected).
Its amazing that apple states that they rejected the Google Voice App because it replaced existing functionality. Well Apple, why did you approve RingCentral?s App? It has its own dialer and method for retriveing VM as well. Why is that app okay and not Google?s?
What's going on here is that Apple is telling the truth about the reasons they gave Google, but Google knows that the public speculation is more sympathetic to them than the truth would warrant. So why end the speculation? What other reason would you have to redacting your answer to what the other party told you?Btw, I use Google extensively and own nothing Apple. :-p
Generally speaking, I'm not an Apple fan, and I am a Google fan. But I can also read between the lines. :-pWhat the hell sense does this make?:"I gotta call BS on Apple here, if the app was still under review, and not rejected as we've been told, Google wouldn't have had to redact an entire bloody page of text."You don't redact something that would make the public MORE sympathetic to you. You do the opposite. Google isn't publicly commenting because they'd rather not end the speculation.
