There is nothing to patch, it is like you would have login & password of HanSolo69 & HanSolo69No amount of security helps if the operator isn't even willing to reset the default password to something else.
As the guy above said, all banks have security cameras. Who should be worried are the branch locations like gas stations and pool-halls with the stand-up ATMs.
You know, I just did a search for about every PrePaid debit card out there, and ALL of them require you to provide proper ID (SS number) and a photo ID to get the card.....so therefore although its prepaid, it wouldn't be hard at all for the police to track you down once you used the card at a hacked ATM. One solution, would be to reprogram, wait for one or two people to use the ATM, then use it yourself, hoping the first two people wouldnt start shrieking with joy therefore alerting other people to the ATM's generousness....this way, your card would not be the first card used after the reprogram, and would likely not be looked at as the culprit, as much as the first user after the hack would......Another problem with the whole idea, which im not sure about as I'm not up to date on merchant/user rights, would be that the ATM owner could look at the journal and find out everyone who got more money than they were supposed to, and simply give all of the info to the police, who would contact each person and get the money back.....Anyone have any ways around the above problems I see?I'm sure the police are in contact with the PrePaid Debit card issuer that the man above used, and are getting closer to him, if they didnt get him already. Only way I can see around this is getting someones SS number and a fake photo ID made with their information.....Unless someone knows something I dont about prepaid cards!
Almost all Diebold ATM's, since they are used for banks, are not like the tranax and triton ATM's, they have much higher security. Nothing usefull can be done from the customer keypad. Most of them require access to the internals at the least to reprogram, they can also be reprogramed from the host inside the bank.Your best bet is to get some schematics, or a used broken one of the same model your looking at, study it and and its locking mechanisms, and go from there. Also, most of the higher class (bank) Diebolds have more than 3 different security alarms, along with GPS tracking for the stand alone models, and 3 or 4 different locks to pick/detroy before you can get to the cassettes.

Yes, it's called theft. Even if you are a 1337 h4x0r and reprogram the ATM to give you more money than it should, it's still theft.
