biosmagazine.co.uk — "1280x1024 native resolution, a very nice 2ms response time for optimal gaming and minimal ghosting, has three USB 2.0 ports, DVI-D, D-SUB, 1.3-megapixel webcam, microphone/headphone inputs and even an integrated 2.1-channel speaker system that includes a a fancy tube-like subwoofer on the back side."

1280x1024 might be the queerest resolution ever, especially for gaming.

The Dell and Apple monitors are the same under the branding.

@Bradl3y"The shortest response time available on wide screen monitors right now is 8ms. This monitor has 2ms response time. I purchased myself a 21" wide screen, response time is very noticeable in some games."Not true. I recently purchased a wide screen monitor from Acer with a 6ms response time, and I see little to no ghosting.(<a class="user" href="http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824009061)">http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824009061)</a>

A monitor no longer has to be 6-bit to be fast enough for games. I'm using a Dell 2407, which is an 8-bit S-PVA monitor, and there is no noticable LCD ghosting due to response time nor input lag. Some older PVA monitors are 6-bit, but using overdrive response time issues can be reduced. I also understand newer IPS monitors are also pretty good for games. The older TN monitors, while they have reduced response time considerably, have poor color reproduction and horrible view angles. I doubt they are using one, but you never know. Wait till this monitor is released so we can find out exactly what kind of panel is inside. Also, I'm quite conserned about dead/stuck/defective pixels. Asus support, in a word, sucks. I had a laptop with a stuck pixel, and asus was totally unreasonable about fixing it. There were many other issues with it, such as a mats**ta dvd burner with poor firmware, that neither mats**ta nor asus were willing to update, even though other notebook manufacturers had.I'd personally avoid ASUS for monitors of any kind, whether they be on laptops or otherwise.

2ms Response! Nice. However. That speaker on teh back, that looks Bad Ass, Doesn't appeal to me. Depending on the price and different sizes offered, i might consider it if i just wanted to make a cool looking PC. Oh yeah, Asus makes GREAT products. Their software and help though... yikes.
