chron.com — AMD has been validated as the victor in its dual-core duel challenge issued in August. Thanks to the true dual-core technology from AMD available today, the Dual-Core AMD Opteron(TM) processor leads in key published industry-standard benchmarks as well as holding a significant lead in overall performance-per-watt versus its competitor's products.

Hmmm, wow.. that read like a paid for advertisement for AMD.I could swear it's a press release by AMD.I like AMD processors as much as the next computer nut but a press release is a press release, no digg.

I have the x2 4200, and I'm happy with, but the speed seems to be causing havoc amongst some of the software. Compression programs come to mind,.. Otherwise it sings, and it's biggest Kudos(for me) are silent and cool running. It'll do till something else comes along. I wonder how many computers I have gone thru since 1989?? I don't have a clue, except my first one was a ComPuadd 325 DX (386) Processor with an 80 Meg HD and 4 100 meg Ram chips. I tho't ComPuadd would make it, out in Texas, but they weren't the ones to pull it off.CyborgAYep

Unfortunately AMD will never "win" the "war" with Intel, cuz they will never beat the financial resources Intel has. Don't expect the x86 monopoly to switch over to AMD anytime soon.

Developed for geeks with premature ejaculation problems no doubt. You Intel fanboys needn't worry though, as intel is coming out with a processor that can play porn flicks at the speed of light, so you can watch the whole catalog of dark bros. in a single 15 second setting. Then you can brag to your buddies how you held out till the last 14.5 seconds of the series before you blew your load, you limp-wristed c**k-twisters.

Well, I don't know what they are running for apps, but mine is giving me small hemorrages around the brain. Too fast for some things, and batch files to slow things down are really old hat....Jury is still out on whether I would have been happier with a single core unit. But I guess I am ready for the future, as long as I get attensa to install, which it has NOT, as yet. Little dlls not changed, and little files missing. More to attensa than I tho't.CyborgIt is just an article for publication of the product,,, Na
