Although I have been a big fan of Intel for years, it is quite obvious that AMD is currently stomping Intel in dual core systems. However, I have seen Intels dual core systems rock the house in hard number crunching so I am definitely a little skeptical of the bias in the report when one group wins ALL the competitions....sounds a little like a microsoft shop running a OS benchmark and declaring windows by a landslide...
Once and for all? These are the last processors they're ever going to make?Dumb title, article as interesting as the bombing report in Tel Aviv. No Digg.

With all the hypes about AMD x2, Pentium D CPU is a lot cheap than AMD x2 as this battle is going on. For the most desktop computing, either dual core is a overkill. For high end video editing/imaging/gaming, you want to go all the way, dual CPU instead of dual core will get you into the heaven zone. The real battle will in server field (high end game desktop too), dual Xeon vs. dual Opteron is where the fun begins.

"I wish Apple had chosen them over silly Intel."Just another reason not to use Apple crap.

TerminalFreeze, I think we need one more comment from you on your own story. Seven is lame; go for eight! :)
