phoronix.com — In the new 8.35.5 display drivers ATI/AMD has unveiled the new Catalyst Control Center Linux Edition. This replaces the aging fireglcontrolpanel with a ton of new features. Phoronix has plenty of screenshots and news on the amdcccle.

I think compositing(i.e. AIGLX support) should be ATI's #1 priority.

I have to agree with some of the previous posts. The bloated Catalyst Control Center for Windows bites, and the thought of adding something similar to Linux pains me. I hope they'll give the option for a 'driver only' install.

I'm just hoping for damn compositing support. nvidia users have had aiglx for a while now I believe.. and ati users are stuck with work-arounds and hacks. The desktop effects by default in ubuntu don't work because of this.
