nVidia/AMD combos are the best for gaming... I'd hope that this wouldn't change that.

ATI's linux driver support?! Screw that, they need to work on their windows driver support!I've never had so many problems installing gfx cards as I have had with ati products! Be it on a fresh install or an upgrade.

all these people digging....... it's not proven yet, why worry? it's not like the nVidia won't work with AMD.... and besides, who is going to stop using nVidia because of it?

Well, this would seriously hamper any future machines with AMD processors and nVidia SLI. :(

I guess this would make my HP laptop with an AMD processor and Nvidia graphics card some kind of strange half-breed.

Interesting this rumor is flying close after AMD announced it's Live! project.. If AMD is going to start building media centers, owning the component companies is a smart move.warrenfalk makes a good point - if any chipset company (AMD/Intel) cut off their support to any video card company (ATI/nVidia), they would be forfeiting tons of market share and binding their survival as a company to one another. It's suicide and it won't happen.

Wow you AMD fanbois must be ejaculating all over the place at the thought of them merging with someone.(Note: This is odd, they've always had good relations with NVidia...)
