thedailyshow.com — Congress wants to blame someone for the AIG mess but can't seem to figure out who. Chris Dodd is now the most likely target after admitting he was involved one day after saying he wasn't. AIG CEO Edward Liddy also says that they'll need to change their name after all this is over, and Jon Stewart has it picked out for them already.

It's the weekend and thinking about all the outrage about $165 Million out of $180 *Billion*,and that the federal gov't is outraged at the bonuses for failure. It's ironic, cause if I recall, the Congress, the Office of the President and state assemblies across the country got raises every year since 2000.... and for what? If Obama is criticizing that gov't needs to be fixed, then why were all these politicians getting 'entitled' raises (that they set, voted, and gave to themselves) for basically doing nothing but adding to their coffers and lobbyists? Where's the outrage there? That is no different from the AIG mess--actually it's worse cause we automatically pay by taxes,.I think our outrage is being misdirected. There's a bigger problem here and the American people are being misled by your gov't. We already know the corporations (AIG, Fannie, Freddie, Banks, etc...) misled us (well actually THEY TOOK a well known high risk GAMBLE). But I think gov't is setting themselves up to cover their ass.Case in point: http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5 ...If the AIG crisis didn't happen this week, I'm sure the Senate rate (and others) would have gone through without question. note that just stopped the vote, the raises are still in play. How ironic timing.

No, I'm actually in my early 30s, so the old coot accusation was a valiant attempt.Liberals never seemed to have a problem with my opinions when I was bashing Bush and all his nonsense, and pointing out that Republicans lost credibility thanks to their decision with Iraq. But that fraternity has certainly changed once the messiah came on the scene. Nobody seems to be willing to look at Obama for what he really is. He's a destructionist. America is going to be worse off for everyone. You can't build up an economy by destroying the credibility of those who make it. His policies, designed to redistribute wealth, will really just redistribute talent and resources -- away from the US.And my opinion is absolutely worth something, whether in my business, where we've done just as well despite the meltdown, or in my analysis, which you will see come to pass in the approaching years.Try again, Gutterpunk.
