Glad it worked for you. Still, it isn't for everyone (regular stimulant use, even at therapeutic levels), and probably not even for most people. Its way overprescribed.
hiI did my PhD on web CBT at a children?s hospital. One mom said "This is perfect and what me and my family have been waiting yearsfor. My 9 yr old has A.D.H.D and presents behavioural difficulties? Now others are finding other uses for the product. The funding was stopped due to cut backs and also it is easy to give drugs than time..but it is on line now...www.AnimalAgentz.comAny suggestions on how i tell the world about this? (blogs etc). Best mark Email: m@animalagentz.comWhen we recently conducted an independent trial of our product, we found parents had many more applications for which they used Animal Agentz. The Animal Agentz behaviours are as follows:Breathing skills; taught by a fishStretching skills; taught by a dogDistraction skills; taught by a catGuided imagery skills; taught by a monkeyPositive self statements; taught by a lionThe parents applied these behaviours in new ways to help their child.Always ask your doctor how best to use Animal Agentz.Responses from independent research:"This is perfect and what me and my family have been waiting yearsfor. My 9 yr old has A.D.H.D and presents behavioural difficulties. His biological father rejected him a yr ago and this hasn't helped, his self esteem is very low and finds making new friends verystressful. The local social services tell me he needs therapy likethis but are unable to provide it! I am having to pay a privatetherapist to help my son so when this comes in which I know wouldbenefit many parents that I email, talk to etc then I can guarantee atleast 15 sales for definite....where do I order!!!! Great idea andvery user friendly, fab idea and so much needed for the 21st centurywhere many children face daily struggles with little or no help and sothey suffer. I am in 100% support of this stimulating and so muchneeded idea!" Mrs Garvey, East Yorkshire"I did these exercises with my daughter; she loved them and wants toplay again." Mrs Rogers, Plymouth"This product is excellent and would also be beneficial to childrenwith disorders such as ADHD. It would also be a great intro DVD forchildren who are about to be admitted to hospital as there was nothinglike this about when my son had to go in for a heart op and it wouldhave helped him no end." Miss Gooch, Norwich"I think it's an extremely good idea."Mrs Hirst, Eastbourne"Whilst doing this survey my son who is 7 and a type 1 diabetic cameto watch and listen of his own accord; he really liked it." Wow, exact same story here.I believe the more accurate term is "ADD" though. As I'm not too fidgety, I just couldn't pay attention in college. Too many other things rolling through my head....like how I was going to code a particular function when I got home.
For all of those who believe that children with ADHD just need their ass whipped, your wrong! A child with true adhd struggles and is overstimulated, leaving them unable to complete tasks, achieve appropriate grades, and seem to be unfocused and extremely hyperactive. My son was off the walls when he was a toddler. No child in the history of my family was like this. Just so you know, I spank my children good! I was raised that way and its the way I bring my children up. I believe in discipline more than punishment. For those of you who do not know the difference, punishment is done to a child in result to not achieving the desired result and not done out of love. Discipline, however, is done out of love and brought about to reach the result that is desired. That's a different topic. My son was seen as a monster by others, completely uncontrollable. But he's my son, and I love him. I took him to see a psychiatrist, they observed him during play therapy and whatever they do. After seeing them a different doc's of course you can guess he was diagnosed with ADHD. I refused to believe it because everyone has it right! Wrong, he did and does have it. I still refused the meds. We tried everything there was from positive reinforcements down to taking things away and the of course, ass whippings. First grade came, and he struggled more than any child should. He was retained. I decided to try ritalin. It hurt his stomach, decreased his appetite, he had difficulty sleeping, and he would sweat a lot. I immediately had him switched to Concerta, the sustained released. My sons stomach aches went away, and he eats, I just have to give him that look you give a child that tells them that if they don't complete the task at hand that life as they know it will cease to exist. Parents know that look! lol Grades went from F's to A's and B's. He also wasn't in the office for being written up anymore. We had to play with the dosage to get it right, I mean I didn't want him to be slowed down into a zombie! I have seen kids like that and I think it is so sad. My son still runs jumps and plays, the difference is that he seems so much happier himself. He was irritated with himself and frustrated when off the meds. Now he smiles all the time and tells me he loves me more and more. My son is proof that some kids need the extra help. Even after seeing the proof, I pray to God everyday that he grows out of it, or the Lord takes it away. I hate giving him medications. I see a lot of debate on here on whether or not it stunts growth, I hope not. Overall it has helped him, but I still don't feel right drugging my son up. If there is a different way, trust me I am open to suggestions. For now I have to stick with what gets us by. My son is going to fourth grade now and does martial arts(I figured that could help get some of his extra energy expelled and the discipline is awesome). He is very thin, and I make sure he eats. His father was thin and didn't get weight until early adulthood so it could be hereditary, I pray. Or I could be slowly killing him. The school system won't tell you that the child has to be on meds to come to school, but they will send your child home before 10 am every morning if they don't have them! Better yet they threaten you with sending your child to alternative school for classroom disruption(due to being hyper and oh too entertained by whats going on with everyone else in the classroom). Sometimes I wish I was rich or not a single parent. I would love to tell the school system to kiss my a**, go to h@##, and home school my son. That way theres no other children for distraction and he'd have one on one guidance and attention. Don't get me wrong I know a teacher can't give every child the attention they need. Class rooms are full. But I expect something giving the fact that the schools receive extra funding for every child on medications for ADHD. So if you are being paid for my child to be drugged then of course I am expecting my child to get all the help he can get! Whoever is paying you ghuys should pay us to stay home and school our own kids! lol In another world right! I doubt anyone has read this far. I could write a book on this topic. If you have read this, then know I am a desperate parent wanting to do the best for my son. If there is any information out there that can help us please let me know. Thanks.Ices
i have to say that although i do believe that adhd medications help, they should not be perscribed for ages younger than 10 years of age in my opinion. i have been taking 3 pills a day for 8 years (half my life) and its really hard to tell whether the medication had helped me or not. those medications include adderall xr 30mg, zoloft 100mg, and xanax .5 mg. although with the medication i still seem to be "the smart one with the bad grades" like another poster said.

If you read the linked article, the "stunted growth" is in fact linked to the decreased appetite.
