rawstory.com — The ACLU says a "Constitution-free zone" exists within 100 miles of the US border, where DHS claims the authority to stop, search and detain anyone for any reason. Nearly two-thirds of the US population lives within 100 miles of the border, according to the ACLU, and the border zone encompasses scores of major cites and some entire states.

I was reading Giorgio Agamben's _State of Exception_ just last night, which argues that in the situation of global civil wars, which is what we seem to have for some time, the government of state of exception becomes a norm, not an exception. This government suspends law in the name of law. It strips some of its people the status of citizens and renders them impalpably undecidable. I highly recommend this book! Also, it makes me think maybe it's not a partisan issue. I don't know if Democrats are less prone to wars (culture, ideological, or "real" wars), although it seems so for now.

How much longer will you naysayers live in denial? How much evidence is it going to take to clearly show you the direction that we are headed? Is it going to take them pulling you over and locking you up without due process or probable cause? WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE? You tell me.

Who were the morons that decided that 100 mi. perimeter was an acceptable constitution-free zone! Do the people that own property in that area have a written addendum to their property agreements that warns them that they are ceding their constitutional rights? After all, you get one for living in the flight path of an airport. I think that everyone that lives within the perimeter of this idiotic zone should ask for just compensation from the government for the taking of their rights. That should bring the time line of the imminent collapse of the government up a few months! The links below are here for irony. If you declared to a 100 mi. inland, constitution-free zones, the constitution would never have been able to be ratified:Map of Revolutionary US:<a class="user" href="http://etc.usf.edu/maps/pages/2300/2393/2393.htm">http://etc.usf.edu/maps/pages/2300/2393/2393.htm</a> Map of Middle States of US in 1790:<a class="user" href="http://etc.usf.edu/maps/pages/2400/2407/2407.htm">http://etc.usf.edu/maps/pages/2400/2407/2407.htm</a>Map of New England in 1790:<a class="user" href="http://etc.usf.edu/maps/pages/2400/2408/2408.htm">http://etc.usf.edu/maps/pages/2400/2408/2408.htm</a>I'm sure that the US Founders' would think this zone to be an anathema to the people of this country and our natural rights endowed by our creator!

Sorry but stopping and asking someone a question is not violating their rights. If people refuse to answer then it's up to the officer to determine if they should be held for questioning. If the person doesn't want to answer then they shouldn't; go with the officer and you will have no problem hiring a lawyer to get you free of any charges. Part of living in a free society means you have rights. Doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

We the 300+ MILLION American citizens and people of the USA need to declare ALL of our country a "Department of Homeland Security"- free zone. Declare the "DHS" the unconstitutional, anti-American, pro-fascism FARCE that it is.We must claim the authority to abolish the unconstitutional DHS for any reason. Declare a border zone that encompasses scores of major cites and some entire states to be 100% fascism free zones. Screw the dual US/Israeli citizenship Chertoff zionazi and his "Homeland Security" gestapo scam. America has a Constitution and Bill of Rights for a reason.

Instead they're signed up to run Northern Command, and control Canadian and US deployments for 'civil support' - which basically means they'll need very little excuse to pick you up.
