ABC did a great thing with this. I was impressed with the quality of the video and the sound. The local ABC affiliate near Vestavia doesn't even broadcast the audio in stereo. A larger picture would be nice, but this is a first good try and an indication of the near future. Why not provide not almost ANY program with limited commercials. A sophisticated system would have a profile on the user that could tailor the commercials to the particular viewer. That's what advertiser want and I think most people do not mind watching a few commercials that are themselves entertaining or about something in which they have an interest.I saw a couple of posts with links to the media files. Does anyone know how to download these streams? I've tried replay A/V. but their URL finder can't detect the correct URLs.Thanks.

Great service for you guys in the States, its only allows streaming from within the US shores. :( I'm not a happy chappy about that, I'll just have to download it a little bit later than episodes air.

Fantastic. Yet another bit of service that is available in the US only, excluding Canadians (and everyone else). I can't buy shows from iTunes, and I can't watch them online on ABC's site. The US policy on free trade is a crock of s**t as far as I'm concerned.

Its amazing that its taken so long for the other television companies to catch up since BBC started streaming their programmes and radio shows.

Not available outside of the United States. What the heck is that. I dugg it and then realized that this sucks for anyone not in the US.

Apparently the non-ad flv files are streaming off of an RTMP server and there is no way to watch those streams on a local machine without the browser. An episode of Lost would look like this:rtmp://wdig.fcod.llnwd.net/a339/o2/abc/streaming/episodes/Lost_221_QuestionMark_Seg1_3xjA_700x394_700kbps_myabc_f8.flvThere is an app called FLV Player http://www.martijndevisser.com/blog/article/flv-player-updated that is supposed to be able to play RTMP streams without a browser. As for saving the files, we're screwed for now. It seems that VLC development is not too hot to add the RTMP stream feature to the player. All in good time hopefully.

Sadly it didn't make it to the front page - but I submitted this blog which shows how to watch it outside the US w/o doing through a proxy (for the actual stream). Lag is only on load. It's beautiful. Make sure to digg it!http://digg.com/technology/Avoid_Proxy_Lag_When_Watching_ABC_Video_Outside_US
