networkworld.com — From the article: "My first memory is from when I was approximately 3 years old when I was making simple actions like personalizing Windows, then installing Windows, making remote desktop connections with workstations and servers on remote locations, and so on." He has his MCP, MCDST, MCSA and MCSE, and wants his Microsoft Certified Trainer.

Damn, I'm already almost done studying for the test so I guess I might as well take it. Funny thing is I do know how to do about 90% of that stuff, minus the backup and recovery scheme. Thanks for the tip though, maybe those are things I should add to my resume. Microsoft or Cisco certification, which one is better?

The problem with Microsoft certifications, 70-620 included, is that the training material for these exams is intended to only prepare you for the exam. Often, underlying principles and concepts are not covered in the detail required to fully understand what it is you are configuring or troubleshooting, making it damn near impossible for people new to IT to successfully complete an exam.I am not sure if you are doing more Microsoft based courses or not. but if you are, I wouldn't write any certification exam until you are completely done your studies. The 70-620 exam has scenarios which involve concepts that are covered in much greater detail in Windows Server related courses. Not to discourage you either, but this exam is probably the easiest of the exams required to become MCITP Server or Enterprise Admin.

i dont think thats true, when i was about 8 or 9 i was running dos, dos shell, windows 3.1. going on bbs', i was able to install hardware and drivers. i know this isnt much compared to now, but is running windows all that hard? its designed to be easy.anyways, i think the point im trying to make is kids pick up stuff a lot quicker than adults. im quite confident that kid is able to learn what he has and still have plenty of time for "kid" things.

One of the problems now is that in order to get passed the online resume, application process, you need to have the keywords to get your resume picked out.Gone are the days when the IT Manager read through resumes and made a stack of the people who might be qualified, certification or no certification.

@momomathewthat's why i'm not planning to work in the US unless it's with a company who has a better hiring system. some companies do better. i refuse to work for companies with robotic HR or hiring departments that don't recognise us beyond a sheet of paper. if universities can put more staffing into reading applications (even the best of universities filter quickly but use *humans* to do it), companies can, and improve their company by doing so with that extra effort.

It does sound like he is just memorizing and learning the material. Who knows for sure if he can solve real world problems. All he wants to do is parrot the information to teach others and write books with the information. (I didn't read it all just some and the part about what he wants to do in future)

Don't feel bad."What's your take on open source software?Well, I still have not used any open source software, because I want to implement only the platform that I know the best and which is tested by me."He's still only 9.

At the age of nine I spent most of my time watching TV. Should I feel like crap?

I think many 9 year olds would know how to work a computer better then a lot of older people.

It shows how low your standards are when a 9 yr old can get your companies Certs lol
