blogs.zdnet.com — Google's market share on their top 20 products reveals that an overwhelming majority of users don't use their apps. "Why then does Google continue to roll out its own unique style of verticals? Perhaps Google has a grand end-game."

google needs to concentrate on their search engine business if u ask me.. from the looks of things, microsoft's live.com search is looking like a strong contender after using it for a few days now..

The market share column is so incorrectly labelled, it's worth striking the compiler of this information on the head with a blunt object. I'm sure Google Image search has at least 50% market share of the Image Searching market. What the chart is in fact measuring is how many hits each subdomain of Google gets, compared to accumulative hits received on all Google sites. What that basically means is that for every 80 hits Google Search gets, Image Search gets about 10. Data makes sense.

I was just writing a post about how no one ever mentions this and thought I better check to make sure that statement was true. So developers get to be happy using 20% of their time on fun projects they've wanted to try, they get something together and Google releases it to see if it goes anywhere. Google says themself Orkut came from this so that's at least one product released almost no one uses anymore.

You can only choose whether you want your page index or not. If you allow Google web crawling "spider" to index your page once then there is no way to remove your page from Google's cache other than poosibly through legal means.
