lifehacker.com — Just as extensions make Firefox better, so do plug-ins add extra goodness to Windows Media Center Edition (MCE). With these eight plugs-ins, most of which are free, you can trick out your MCE PC like never before.

I have Media Center. But I choose to run BeyondTV for two reasons. Smartskip, and the ability to record TV starting from where you paused it. In Windows Media Center, if you pause it for like 5 or 10 minutes then come back and hit record it only records the stuff that comes after you hit play.

OK. It ISN'T just me. This has got to be the lamest of the lame Digg stories I've seen here on Digg. Hey guys, just rename the site Sukk.com. Adios.

They missed one of the most useful: DVRMSToolbox, otherwise known as automatic commercial skip: http://babgvant.com/Wiki/view.aspx/DVRMSToolboxIt can take a little work to set up but once it's running it'll skip past 80-90% of commercials automatically, just like the first-gen ReplayTVs.

Nice, maybe something like that can be rigged up for this:http://digg.com/tech_deals/FreeTube_Watch_TV_shows_and_Live_TV_for_FREEbtw stay away from TVTonic - it's free for about 20 days, and then it locks itself and requires you to pay. But it slows your computer down on loadup, it starts a program called rssplayer.exe and several other files like rxmediaplayer.exe on startup and even disabling all these items from the startup and registry and win.ini file fails to keep it from loading the tvtonic executable on startup (which re-downloads these files). Overall TV Tonic is just not worth it, try the others on the list though!

Avili,Nice try, whomever you are. TVT doesn't even HAVE a pay version, and doesn't install that stuff. I've used it forever. Work for the competition do you?
