nomadishere.com — There are many reasons to let geeks work the way they want to work. Today they work in every industry. They are the knowledge base, blood and sweat equity of many businesses. They work harder than most. They work longer than most. Their job isn’t a separate “thing they do” while they look forward to going home and relaxing. Geeks live what they do.

d3c0yn4m3l355 is giving you the straight dope from an IT employer, and you choose to ignore reality and live in this fantasy world where you are somehow owed the right to come into a job whenever you damn well please and leave whenever you want just because you know how to program. why doesn't the marketing lady get that privilege too? she has a specialized knowledge base she worked hard to acquire.

Isn't it funny how an employer can make a few simple concessions, and get a much greater ROI? Instead, it seems that there's a headstrong group that favors the lowest common denominator. And that exactly the quality of work they will get - presumably from people who have no more interest in the work than the bi-weekly paycheck.

"IT is less than a job and more like a lifestyle."Shut up. You're acting like those retards who refer to skateboard as a lifestyle. The difference is that they're not whining about how special they f**king are and they can kick your ass.

@davecor: no, no, no, no... do NOT get me started... that's not extroversion, that's just another hallmark of social dysfunction.I quit going to my local gaming con because of that crap. I *do* have a family, and I *would* like to be comfortable with my kids attending when they are old enough to be interested. (I married into a gamer family, and I'm a gamer myself.)I recently worked for city hall, and here's what I observed in IS (and sometimes with other tech staff) concerning the list:#1 - Reasonable. The Cable Communications Coordinator (runs the city cable channel) sometimes came in on Saturdays and was the only one there in our office.#2- Telecommuting was allowed in some instances. Even the Environmental Education Coordinator, who is *not* tech-savvy, did some telecommuting for a while.#3- Many, many, many IS folks worked in the dark. Much easier on the eyes when you work in front of a screen.#4- Sometimes allowed.#5- No one wore a suit that I could think of in IS. The only folks that wore suits were the City Council, and not every day.

The author of clause has mentioned and has opened excellent and a vital topic presently. Clause is written interestingly and the main thing actual. The same theme on Russian sites: http://pivo.in.ua http://www.alcogol.kiev.ua

Story makes me sweat, I love nerds. It's true, people just don't understand them and sweat it. But it's really no sweat, just gotta understand their cave-like lifestyle. If you do perspire or stress, http://www.sweating-treatment.com is the answer for your excessive sweating, for nerds, for all.
