mentalfloss.com— We?ve all seen lists of great screen kisses, great car chases, great fight scenes. They?re easy to appreciate, and perhaps that?s why they get all the attention.

Um... StupidDumb, you don't really know what a metaphor is, do you? Just because that Snopes article explains where the story comes from doesn't mean that it explains its figurative importance in the movie.
And for that reason I don't really think it's a metaphor, but simply a clue/visual cue. It's a nice way for Ridley Scott to reward the viewers that payed close attention during the movie.
k sorry, you're wrong this is a good list. Barton Fink is one huge metaphor, almost every little thing that happens in that movie represents something that I can't wrap my head around. It's like a spoof on metaphors. Punch-Drunk Love, is the same thing just not as extreme. The mini piano thing, the pudding, the crash at the beginning, his suit. Badlands, I didn't even notice the metaphor he mentioned. Plus the kicker is, ALL THE MOVIES ON THE LIST (that I've seen) ARE GOOD.

It's supposed to mean that Gaff knew that Deckard was a replicant because he knew about his dreams of unicorns, or something like that.

Actually, the pudding represents FREEDOM to Barry, though the idea for it came from that true story

Still, I like the idea of the observers influence just by observation angle.....
