My youngest brother was born with a cleft palate. During junior high and high school, he became a skater and because of his scar, they nicknamed him "Prune." It was part of his character.When he was going in for his last corrective surgery, he was so upset because he didn't want to get rid of his scar.He came out of surgery relieved that the scar was still there and that most of the work was done on the inside.(I still call him "booger.")
