As long as the man is acting upon his desire, a desire that brings him happiness, then I see no waste. The Buddha is said to have sat under a Boddhi tree for two weeks before attaining enlightenment; was this a waste of time? Is there a greater thing?
Oh I'm active.. I was just being a dick for dick's sake.. it was a bad day at work... I also kayak..... also backpacking and mountain biking... just haven't had a strong enough desire to quit my job to do a long distance hike... although it's on my list
