i say instead of hanging..strap them to a chair, set them in front of a computertell them there is a bomb under their chair about to go off, UNLESS they can find the disarm email.Hide the disarm email in all their spam.Have fun.
That is not true. They can get you email without you doing ANYTHING, and NEVER EVER giving it out. How does this happen? Spammers will use random email address generator scripts, which simply combine common words or phrases with common domains and test them out. Now your "safe" email account gets spam, not because of anything you did, but because of the spammer tools.KyferEz
Just a thought... What would happen if 100 replies were automatically sent back for every piece of spam received? Is there a way to do that before the spam is delivered to the target? There are several points to this...1. obviously there would be a massive backwash to the source2. that backwash might be used to pinpoint the source3. an automatic reply for every spam sent out, especially if just say a Mbyte of garbage would be useless ... and costly to processSeems to me the way to combat spam is to give them what they want -- replies, lots and lots of replies. The trick would be to detect the spam against known solicitations, to trigger a machine gun response. Is there a way to improve this approach? Or existing code that could handle it?

There's another way. Charge 0.1 cents per email sent. Normal users won't miss that but the spammers will.
