Be careful, if you hold it too tight I hear it starts blushing....

If you really wanted BC, you should have gotten the 60GB model. It was the last one with full hardware backwards compatibility. I snagged one right after the cut, during the Amazon special.

When said like a word GAA sounds like Gay.

Because we don't know what Sony is going to do. Nor do we know that they are dropping BC across all models as you seem to be assuming. And FYI you can order an 80gig from Sonystyle.com for $400 with the sony card.

It says on the side of the 40gig's box that it doesn't play PS2 games.

To those saying: "Just leave your PS2 hooked up"...I've got a 360, Wii, 20GB PS3, HD-DVD player, and a Satellite HD-DVR all hooked up to my Onkyo 605. Plus PS1 games work on the PS3, whereas (240p) PS1 games over component video didn't work on my Olevia 37" or my Onkyo 605's video scaler.I don't really have any inputs to spare without going back to a labyrinthine setup of video switchers, and if I did, I'd have my modded Sega Saturn or Dreamcast back in the mix. It doesn't cost Sony more than a few bucks to go with at least the partial BC of the 80GB PS3. They said it before when they released the 40GB: they just want people to buy PS3 games instead of more PS2 games.

Somebody had to call you on it man. Who the f**k cares that you enjoy your HUGE PS2 collection...UNCONVERTED to 1080p, mind you...on your 250GB (good job upgrading...you must have gotten though fourth grade). I must care a little, granted. But I mainly care that you honestly think that people want to hear about your little life on Digg. I care that people are subjected to this on an exceedingly regular basis.I'm a prick, so others don't have to be.
