Something like this happened down the street from my old house. The neighbors' kid was riding a little four-wheeler in a huge circuit around the yard, completely tearing up the lawn and turning it into a pit of dirt. After the foreclosure went through, some one bought it up anyways and fixed it up to look better than the neighbors had ever kept it, and probably raising the property value a good deal regardless.
