But for those of us inclined to eat around the fly, ignore that pesky tail by sticking to the missionary position, and overlook some bad acting, they've just served to offer a glimpse of how great these movies might have been.. if only these actors hadn't been in them.

I agree with every single one except for Jack Black. No, it wasn't his usual movie. No, it wasn't the type of role I ever saw him doing. But damn. I don't think anyone outside of Phillip Seymour Hoffman could have done that role and even then it is only because he can pull off any role imaginable. Jack Black played a corrupted heart as well as any I have seen. He played the selfish bastard you just wanted to punch in the face better than I thought possible. He outdid freaking Adrien Brody, one of the more accomplished actors of our time, for god sake. Why does he always get shortstrawed for that role? If anything attack him for his role in Tropic Thunder. He was awful and almost ruined the amazing work that Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise did.
