maybe they don't need each other, but we sure do enjoy it. Futbol might not be one of the biggest sports here, but there sure is a large following, even though most would probably prefer to watch other countries play over any U.S. teams
very nice article. would be great to see football really take off in the states, but understandable as nba, nfl, nhl, mlb are all such huge sports already in the states. think about how hard it is trying to establish basketball in england despite the recent success of some big name uk players in the states, it is still way behind football, rugby, cricket in terms of ametuer players, available clubs and leagues, college training, and general acceptability amongst your peers.... maybe after 2012 if team Gb can do something there we could see the uk basketball take off?
