Hmm. which hardware line has gone the longest without a refresh? Gotta factor that in.The laptops sell so well that I doubt they will confuse things by adding another model.Which musician will demo the new Garageband? Anyone but John Mayer, please. If there is an iPhone, it will not do as well as iPod in its category. Competition in that sector is fierce, and Apple is likely not prepared to introduce refreshed models at the same pace as the industry.
The iPhone is a pipe dream!!. That's why they've worked with Motorola and Cingular to put iTunes on the Motorola phones. Test the market, it sucked, they're not gonna touch it. They're still in research mode with the cell market and its not panning out. Besides if I were Apple I'd focus on a video ipod that competes with zune, the iTV and an ulltra portable. Priorities people, if they don't put out a zune competitor soon they're gonna start loosing market share and the analysts will freak on them. The ipod is sooo embeded into their switcher strategy that if they loose market share to Zune their stock will plummet like no one's business. Zune competitor or bust, the market demands it.
I wouldn't rule out a new high end wide screen video iPod in January. Just because they increased the hard drive space and dropped the price of the video iPod, does not mean they won't upgrade it again or add a bigger iPod brother.Look what happend to the iMac last year : Apple updated it with Front Row and an iSight in October, and then they pissed off everyone who just bought them, by releasing new intel versions just 3 months later at MacWorld.
@brendancWhile it is true that Leopard was previously scheduled for a Spring release, you have to keep in mind that Apple often ignores their own deadlines, choosing instead to put out new products much ahead of schedule.
i think there will be a new iPod video....maybe a widescreen....but i dont think so. They'll somehow improve the current iPod....maybe a new menu interface, radio, and voice recording?.......i think the September 12th ipod update was just Apple's last push to sell as many iPods as possible

Um, ok, so... this thing is in January, right? If 10.5 is going to be released in SPRING, spring is not January. January is Winter.
