cracked.com — Most children's TV producers know that to get kids to watch, you have to terrify the little bastards. Looking back at the weird-ass shows they've cranked out over the decades, it's a wonder that we all grew up to be such, stable, well-adjusted adults.

Land of the Lost. The Sleestacks seem like something from a really bad trip--the way they move so slowly but are (presumably) dangerous as hell. They were good fodder for bad dreams.

Although it may have been more influenced by pot, there's those underwater cousins of the Smurfs called The Snorkels!! There was one episode titled "Reef Madness"-same story line of the propaganda movie Reefer Madness/Tell Your Children. Super weird cartoon

I love the nick version of Tomorrow people and saw the original once. I'm not watch the show on youtube. If they can bring back Dr. Who they can bring back the tomorrow people too.

Ren and Stimpy is not an acid trip--it's a sign that John Kricsfalusi needs psychiatric evaluation (especially since his ego got so big that he thought any project he made after that was just as good as Ren and Stimpy).

Haha this explains how so many kids get into acid and pot so early

Technically, it wasn't a trip at all. Lewis Carroll never was under the influence of any drugs when he wrote Alice's Adventures in Wonderland or Through the Looking Glass. It's a common misconception since he had quite the imagination. He actually claimed a new genre called "nonsense literature." That's why Disney's combination of the two books into Alice in Wonderland seems like it's drug induced, but really, it's just nonsense.
