"Science" is just another name for "Stuff we know about 'reality'" and the title should be something like "7 Awesome Acts of Nature That are not fully understood yet." 'Yet' being the key word. When you say "Science Can't Explain" people tend to therefore think f**kING MAGIC! There is a scientific answer for all the real, non-bulls**t questions.
"No one has ever witnessed a person spontaneously combust, they've just found the results of it later."Which is why us skeptics doubt it.It is far more probable that we're making up a natural phenomenon that doesn't exist from evidence we have to sort out after the fact and it's just something simple. I wouldn't even be surprised if someone came up with this to cover up a sudden suicide so family who didn't see it coming would feel better about it.
I'm not saying it's completely unique, but it doesn't seem exactly like those common swamp phenomena either. The predictable annual cycle is the part that most gets me.
The annual cycle doesn't seem that strange to me, but then again, I'm not an expert in that field at all.I could easily imagine that some kind of algae blooms or ripens at a certain time each year, and thereby provides one of the components that then ferments into the gas. Or maybe it has something to do with the depth of the water. Some rivers can have amazingly precise high/low water cycles.

Thanks for the info dickchoke!

No doubt it was cheeky of them to say that science *can't* explain this just because every detail of it hasn't been explicated yet.
