davidputney.com — We love “Star Wars.” Really, we do. We loved the toys as a child and – errr – as an adult too. But any honest fan has to admit all is not perfect in the galaxy far, far away. For every cool character or great plot twist, there is a line of dialogue that would make a Gundark want to pull its own ears off. So, we made a list...

Okay, time to be a geek. First off, the original trilogy will be released in September so once again Han will shoot first at Greedo. As for unprovoked, there is a blaster pointed after his face and he knows his fate if he's taken to Jabba. As for why the four tie fighter pilots would fight to the death, they were given orders to attack and if they didn't chances are they would be executed on the death star. And I find it important to note that just because Clone Troopers were clones that doesn't mean Stormtroopers were clones. In fact it implies that they are not since Luke having a different height than Han would immediately have blown there cover. See the expanded universe for clone insanity reasons for stormtroopers no longer being clones. I have more to rant but that is for another place and time.

@roquatin The forest moon was Endor. That's what he was saying "on the forest moon of Endor" like "on the planet of Earth." and scientifically speaking there would have been fallout raining over the forest moon. Though much of the debris would probably burn up on re-entry, which according to the Star Wars movies doesn't happens so.. never mind. How many times have star ships in Star Wars films have taken off from and landed on a planet and not had a atmospheric burn? Only three I can name are the escape pod in Episode IV (the real favorite), Senator Organa's huge ship at the beginning of Episode III and the burning half ship that Anakin miraculously lands. Every other ship seems to enter and leave planetary atmospheres with no burn at all.

if you read any of the comics or books you will find out that it is normal to wipe a droids memory every few months to keep them from being twitchy. kind of like how a fresh install of windows can drastically speed up a sluggish computer

I wrote the Star Wars piece. A couple of points I'd like to add to this debate. The simple laws of physics dictate that pieces of the Death Star would eventually slow down enough that their orbit would decay and they would hit the surface of Endor. The Death Star was 20 miles in diameter. This would no doubt devastate the planet.Re: Anakin was already a great pilot. I added this because Lucas obviously changed his mind between Star Wars and "Phantom" and decided to make Anakin a kid rather than adult. He's clearly referencing an adult in his descriptions. He'd say something like "When I first met your father he was just a boy."Fan need to stop making excuses of Lucas' narrative sloppiness.
