@eridanman:Come on, "burning oil...needs a tuneup" On a jet engine? That didn't strike you as funny? Since he assumed it was a piston driven engine that needed oil for lubrication like an internal combustion engine, I pointed out the folly in his thinking. IC engines don't burn oil unless there is a leak in the gaskets for the oil journals or through the piston rings in the cylinders.I realize turbine engines don't have pistons...so, yes, I was making a joke at his expense.Thank you, thank you very much. I'll be here til Thursday, try the veal!
at cruise altitude the plane pretty much flies itself. the pilots (there are at least two by the way and only one on the controls at a time) are really just there in case something goes wrong and to talk to the traffic controllers.
@nirvanixDo address the first part of your question, I can show you pictures of B-17's and B-24's leaving super-saturated contrails hundreds of miles long during world war II, so its hardly a new phenomena. What _IS_ new is a wide combination of factors that have re-written the airline industry in the past 20 years, mostly revolving around deregulation and the decline of the hub and spoke model in favor of the more passenger friendly (but pain in the ass for the airlines) point to point system. Where contrails used to follow standard routes (streams of aircraft operating between two hubs, or between feeder cities and hubs, back and forth all day), now they follow radial grids, as aircraft leave each city for each other city... Many more planes, EXPONENTIALLY more paths, and the result is more perceivable contrails of all types.Nothing I am saying is rocket science, and the statistics are all public. Chemtrail theorists just don't like to bother to research them because it tends to make them look pretty foolish.
People who are actually taking the time to examine these theories (www.carnicom.com) are not saying that we're "being poisoned by some nefarious organization" as you put it (any more than we are, say, poisoned by the nuclear power industry, or industrial chemistry). In your feverish attempt to slam down arguments that aren't being made, you're actually supporting a major theory of chemtrails: according to this theory, the idea is not, as you suggest, to get the particulates down to the population. The idea is to suspend them in the upper atmosphere to create an artificial "plasma" state that results in a global extra-low-frequency wave antenna. Apparently this is the reason for the secretive HAARP (high frequency active auroral research program) Project, to work in conjunction with aerosols, ionization and the resonance of the Earth's magnetic field, to produce a variety of useful effects (Barium isn't a well-chosen "poison," is it? Patients are given it to swallow for gastro-intestinal xrays). Another theory: Edward Teller, the "father of the hydrogen bomb" suggested spraying powdered aluminum in the upper atmosphere to combat global warming; the theory goes that all this spraying is for that purpose. There are any number of reasons for massive spraying operations, and they have been suggested openly - and patented - time and time again. No one is "building a mythology." There's quite a bit of quality research being done, albeit outside a military/industrial/media establishment (that distorts rational scientific inquiry as surely as any "lysenkoism" of the USSR). You argue that we should all ignore it - and cannot keep yourself from insulting those who refuse to. I'm arguing that it's well worth looking into. www.carnicom.com
These so-called CONtrails should be investigated for cloud creation and weather manipulation.Or the contrails themselves are polluting the sky at an astonishing rate, just look up one day. How about a close-up of one of those cargo planes spraying chemicals and aluminum particulate into the atmosphere that I see every day?

Environmentalists say contrails contribute to global warming. After. they flew or drove to the conference a car to make said statement.
