uk.gizmodo.com — Need a cheap file server, Linux machine, or emailing machine? How about a refurbished 700MHz Celeron for $47.91. It's really bare-bones, with only 128MB of RAM, a 10GB hard drive, Windows 2000 (not installed), onboard Video and Audio, two PCI slots, one AGP slot, and four USB slots.

@KliskEver learn how to budget your money? I live off of $765 a month and I have everything I need. A place to live, a decent computer, a car, and great health insurance. Granted I don't have any money for the finer things in life, but I have everything I need.

I wonder if you can knock-off $10 from the price by getting them to lose Win2K? This would be a perfect box for Xubuntu/Fluxbox.

>You're not supposed to try and run anything modern on anything this crappyA 'tuned' installation of Win2K (no transitions, font smoothing etc) will run fine.

I'm running Ubuntu 6.10 on a P3-733 w/512MB RAM and it works fine for office type applications. It's a bit slow with the default desktop manager (GNOME) buy you're not stuck with it - install XUbuntu or use the Icewm desktop instead.

Well now i know were kids around here are getting them from. They look like new. Very clean. The only thing Ive found is the hard drive is dead. It might not come with one. Ive noticed their very old drives.
