macnewsworld.com— A stunning survey reveals that 7.6% of windows users would switch to a mac, even if it couldn't run windows. That said, over 20% would switch if they could run windows.

It's simple. Macs can run both OS X and Windows. PC's can't.It may be subjective, but I think OS X is better than windows - I'd ask anyone who doesn't agree - have you used them both?Mac Mini's and the Macbooks are very well equipped and very powerful at a good price. If you're really determined to get 'more hardware for your money' buy a Dell. If you can afford a Mac, buy one. They look good, they're built well and they run fast. They do everything PC's do and so much more. I think Apple's got a very rosy future!I think anyone in a position to buy a mac and refuses to has to look at he reasons why. I bet 90% of the time is personal prejudice.
1) I was speaking specificaly in terms of the placement of menus at the top of the screen regardless of which app has the focus. That is dumb and the proof is that people haven't copied that.2) Why is it that one person can claim superior intelligence, but when another does so, he is being childish? I am not at all insecure about my intelligence, I just don't like it when obvious morons act as if they are "superior".
Try tunning Photoshop cs2 on a G2 or a G3. You quickly notice missing horsepower. It's not a mac problem it's not a PC problem... it's a computer problem.Aside from being annoyed from Apps not instantly loading when using older PC's as opposed to newer ones, the only preformance problems Ive ever had are related to Hi-Performance games. It doesn't matter what kind of computer you have, if you dont properly maintain it then it's going to break down.Apple makes expensive computers, they use expensive parts, and they charge extra for them. People have said even the mac mini is far more expensive then the sum of the materials (which apple largely out-sourced).With PC's you have a choice on whether to buy expensive or cheap equipment. If you go cheap then you may need more maintenence. But how do you measure that? what does it mean? well just remember that just because something costs less, it doesn't mean its of lesser quality. People get confused, theres hundreds of millions of PC's and a few million macs. If Apple converted 100% of people, that would only mean macs would have an abundance of Good AND BAD hardware, good AND BAD programmers, etc.I also thought i read somewhere that Apple has to approve Mac hardware, and maybe software. I can't backup this claim if you'd even call it that, but if something like this were true then unlike Microsoft they have the benefit of filtering a minimum level of quality and enforcing theme at the expense of diveristy.I'd much rather have a top of the line Alienware GeForce SLI setup then a macintosh computer. I might not have an iLife, but I don't really care. So I guess i'm an iLoser.

As for your sleep-on-close issue, an article from MacOSXHints: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050308172947974&query=close%2Blid%2BsleepAnd "Missing Sync for Pocket PC"allows most pocket PC devices to be synced with a Mac. It costs 40$, but it's worth it.
