I bet he's on the exact opposite side of what you just said...it's not good writing and makes no valid points. I'm sorry you can't see or hear that.

It was a poorly written and conceived article, mostly because these aren't the biggest issues facing music now. I am 25 and buy close to 300 vinyls and 500-600cds/cassettes a year. It's way cheaper and easier to go buy a used album and put it on my computer. I like owning something...my G4 could crash anyday...I'll be selling those f**king vinyls to your grandkids for 200bucks a piece.

Reanimation by Linkin Park is one of my favorite albums for its production, but hardly anything else by them can be considered "awesome".

Most people on digg think compression & limiting = distortion + bad mixing. As if the loudness war was that easy. They are stupid. They will digg you down.A few peaks jumping over hear and there are not the problem, the problem is the RMS loudness level. Anything above -5=-4db RMS results in shredding which makes your loud music sound really bad. The problem with mixing is trying to achieve a high loudness without losing dynamics and punch.

But how many of those artists are just one off hits, with a lifecycle of 3months -1year?

Try making some music yourself, it's really the only way to truly understand how difficult it is to write a good song.
