Green Gadgets for Christmas is an Oxymoron.... it is just using resources to make more useless consumer products. Want a Green Christmas... make something new out of your old stuff... and don't buy new crap.
I think someone needs an Intro to Logic 101 class. What does one thing have to do with another? These devices are focused on the production and consumption of energy in an environmentally friendly way. If I use my imagination, it seems the dots you are trying to connect could be creatively linked when talking about net effect on the environment but then the logic still fails me. At least using an environmentally friendly device to produce power for electronics mitigates the overall negative effect on the environment.

How is this a green device though? It is using additional power to display your power consumption. Isn't that counter productive?

I'm really tired of all this green s**t all of the sudden. Nobody cared before, so why now? Is it just the trendy thing to do?
