Wow. Still bitter over that? Jeez, move on.

I don't see what all the apparent confusion is about... If a company decides to stop producing one model, then it is being phased out.Of course there will be plenty of stock left even after the cease of production is announced (what did you think they were going to with them all... burn them all in a large bonfire?!)This happens in a lot more industries than just gaming, and it has never confused anyone before!

RTFA: He now is saying: "Update 4: We got this clarified statement from Karraker, who said "The 60GB PS3 will be available in North America for $499 until supplies of that unit are depleted."

You're an idiot. You can't even read your own submission. 60 GB PS3's are OUT OF PRODUCTION. Sure, there's still supply, but it's been effectively discontinued. Sure, if you look at the remaining supply, the 60 GB PS3's aren't over today, or tomorrow. But they WILL be gone. And it's back to a single $599 SKU after that.

And do you know at that time whether or not they will lower the price then? Maybe they are trying to guage the success of the lower price.

No the point is people are tring to pick a bone. They all have said the same thing except the head of SCEA spoke about the supply available for the US. The head of UK pretty much was saying that they do not have enough 60 gig's to make it worthwhile.
