gamasutra.com — Nintendo has confirmed that the Wii has sold more than 600,000 units in its first eight days of availability, with 454,000 copies of Zelda purchased, and $190 million in total sales - "several times the amount of hardware the other company was able to deliver", says Reggie!

Terrible luck. I've heard from a lot of people that Zelda is very rare. I got my copy launch day. If I wanted to though, I could go out and get 100 more very easily. They're EVERYWHERE around me. Accessories, on the other hand, are not.

"Where's the PS3 killer app? All I see are sub-par games with a thing that looks like a George Foreman grill."Resistance, while maybe not a "killer app", is reportedly anything but sub-par.Apart from Zelda, the current Wii lineup doesn't have anything really worth having. Both consoles have one good (Resistance) or excellent (Zelda) game, but that's it. You can pretend that "Excite Truck" is great for only so long..ps. did you come up with that funny George Foreman joke on your own? Very funny, never heard that one before!

let's combine 2 parts of this thread yay!for nintento:there are people who don't like zelda... --> are just fine with other wii games because there seems to be more than 1 decent launch title.for ps3:there are people who don't like fps games... ---> darn, now they have to pick out of a slew of crappy games. Happy Feet sounds like a surefire blockbuster! w00t!in the end, it doesn't matter... because anyone who fought their way to get their ps3 is going to rationalize their decision whether the ps3 succeeds or tanks. the real judging will be done when ps3's shelves are not empty.

There are more available. If there were an equal amount of PS3's available, the numbers would be closer together.Of course, digg will PRETEND not to recognize this (because most of the people here are NOT idiots, they just pretend while in fanboy mode) and probably mod this down and post "smart" comments.Digg is an awesome site. The users are not.

I have to agree here, although you did come off rather harsh. One line in the article refers to Sony. I question if everyone read the article. The sense that I got from it was that Nintendo was very proud to sell 600,000ish consoles. I think that these message boards make it much more of a Wii vs. PS3 debate. Of course the comparison is natural because they both were released during the same week. However the story in the article is that Nintendo thought that the supply of units was far greater than demand when in fact they are flying off the shelves.
