Console price drop fast. The first launch will be $499 and $599. I am sure there are enough people who are willing to buy the PS3 with the launch price for the first couple year. After a year or two its price will drop $100. It is a machine that sell world wide. There are more than enough rich gamers all over the world to buy it with a high price tag.
the truth of the matter is the 2nd or third series of games that come out for the ps3 will probably be amazing looking. Still doesn't change the fact that i will never spend $600 on a game system based purely on principle. The 360 looks pretty money and a price drop probably isn't that far off.
The games won't look that much better as tech-specs aside, the games will be developed cross-platform with programming done with the 360 in mind. The games run the same middleware, so aside from a few prettier textures, the average person will have little reason to get a PS3 over a 360...besides, remember the immense hype of how the PS2 would be WAY more powerful than anything else, nevermind the fact that it had weaker resolution and anti-aliasing than the Dreamcast. From what I was reading the 360 has a stronger GPU and more RAM.
Sony's really making up a statement. Full of air that is. I myself am a fan of PS but still this really is something they shouldn't bring up. Without the games they'd probably plunge down the charts. Too much of it!!!

I'll be getting a PS3 because of the games on it and not because I'm a fanboy. I hate the logic that if I plan to get a PS3 I must be stupid. If 360 had more games that I liked(released and future) I'd have gotten one. It seems to me that there are a lot of Xbox fanboys here on digg.

The only DQ game annouced for Wii so far is a side story, similar to FF Crystal Chronicles. Last I heard DQIX was still scheduled for the PS3.

Look, get even like I did. I buy my PS3 from Games-Asia.com, hell of alot less expensive, and PS3 - A cheap way of getting Blu-Ray?
