Those offerings seem a bit weak. It's not hard to find a core 2 duo with 1gb of ram for just under a grand. 512 mb in a new computer is pretty bad.

This is a stupid article. If I want to shop by price, there are plenty of web site out there that aggregate the resellers and sort them by price. This is pointless marketing. Bury.

umm.. I just bought an Acer with a 1.86 ghz core 2, 1 gig of ram and 120gb hard drive, bluetooth, dvdrw, 15.4 inch widescreen, and Vista Home Premium for $799.. yeah its an acer, but what the hell, its got 4 usb ports, which is pretty rare on a lappy. these seem a bit under powered for around a grand...
