Biblically speaking, Angels are not described as having wings. Though they did fly. Mythological characters are very common images in the 18th and 19th century. Religious imagery was reserved for worship and the church. Back then they understood the separation of church and state.
Ridiculous perhaps, even probably; however, it's not a matter of remembering, it is a matter of trained thought process. Hours per day of a particular type of communication will shape thinking for a lifetime. The younger started, the more ingrained. Texting will continue to change language like a ...... genetic mutation of communication (tm).
It's weird that an image like that was once national currency when today, Starbuck's symbol has semi-covered breasts and people are throwing a major bitch-fest about it.
