time.com— You need a vacation more than ever ? and the good news about the bad news is that the financial crisis has made some typically pricey destinations suddenly affordable.

yea that's totally a good idea. go spend money when you should be saving it. there's no need to leave the country when you're stressed out. some of the best getaways i've ever had were within the pages of great literature.
Why not travel somewhere relativity local? You can probably spend a few nights at a scenic spot somewhere within a few hundred miles of home and enjoy a nice meal out for less than the airfare to travel to these more exotic places, and you don't have to pay extra to carry more than one suitcase.
Totally agree gloopy. Buenos Aires definitely would have made my top 5 list. Warm weather + cheap and tasty steaks and wine...what more could you ask for?
That's ridiculous... and therefore impossible. Eastern Europe may not be as expensive as London (well, it depends, Moscow is the most expensive city in Europe) but the differences aren't really as big as you think.

I live in S. Korea, it's a nice, clean, wealthy country, but there's really not much to see...

damn, I was hoping these places would be in the U.S. I can't afford to go out of the country.
