smashingdownloads.com — Taking pictures at night is also an art, you need to have full control over your camera, equipment and the night itself. The right lightning, timing etc counts a lot. Presenting a list of over 40 pictures taken at night, some of these are also in HDR.

It's a $5000 lens, the Nikon 200mm f/2.0G Nikkor (prime lens, no zoom).

Dustin Diaz (4th shot) used to be a Googler IIRC. Now a Twitter staffer.

For some reason HDR photography always seems like "cheating" because it's not what the eye sees. I admit it looks really cool though.

I found some extra referrers coming thru, and as the photographer who shot the 4th photo (that's me, Dustin Diaz), I figured I would clarify a few things so nobody is mistaken. My shot is not HDR (most photogs already knew this). And if anyone is truly interested in seeing how the shot was made,I document most of my work. Setup, camera, and strobist info: See here: http://bighugelabs.com/onblack.php?id=3430314509&a ...Also, for anyone interested in seeing the capabilities of a Nikon 200mm ?/2.0: Here is my set for that:http://www.flickr.com/photos/polvero/sets/72157622 ...Regarding post-processing. It's near 'straight out of camera' via JPEG (not RAW) minus the black letter-box borders and the text overlay.cheers,Dustin
