No Phish AT ALL for that matter. Come on! David Bowie!? Character Zero?? These songs have guitar solos that throw "Smells like Teen Spirit" under the bus.
I think there may be an issue here. There are two types of "great guitar solos"1. The sort liked by 15 year old boys that involve 23 time signature changes and no less that 15 notes/second. Referred to by everyone else as "ego tripping guitar wankery".2. The sort that fits into the song, enhances it and is an integral part of the overall composition. Referred to by everyone else as "music".Both require just as much talent as the other.
