INGDirect? Really? The website serves no other purpose than to sign people up for ING bank accounts, credit and loans. They site their reason for including it was the 8 minute application and high interest payout. It took me less than 1 minute to sign up for an account at Bank Of America, and last I checked, bank interest has nothing to do with websites.I wonder how much Time got paid to put that in the list.
Perhaps, but there's very little keeping people here now. News is a thing of the past here, and the majority of the stories on this website are either from the same users, or about the iPhone/Ron Paul. Digg is as good as dead when other networks are thriving, especially as it's run by a guy who praises his users for revolting and wrecking his website.
Last year peer to peer lending site Prosper was Time’s #1 website of the year. This year online bank ING made the list. As someone who is somewhat familiar with Prosper (I write a blog for Prosper lenders) I wasn’t too surprised that it made the list in 2006. It’s an innovative idea – Prosper match borrowers who want to pay less than bank or credit card interest rates on loans with lenders who want to earn more than bank savings account or CD interest rates on their investments. Facebook’s Lending Club is a new competitor. I was surprised that ING made the list. Is this idea so new and innovative that it is one of the best websites of the year? More of my thoughts: 50 best websites of 2007 – ING replaces Prosperhttp://prosperlending.blogspot.com/2007/07/50-best-websites-of-2007-ing-replaces.html
