@databoy:You're an idiot. What you're saying is tantamount to condemning masturbation while extolling the virtues of whacking off.And yes, some people buy and read books on the subject. It isn't because they're dupes, it's just because they don't understand that meditation is a simple process. And by the way, where did you get the notion that this practice is referred to as "mind dynamics" in the "western world?" Sounds like you're just a different kind of dupe. You should just be happy that these people are trying to get themselves together. If it works for them, what the hell do you care?
"Americans are just not meditative in the old school sense"Yeah, right, that's why meditation in America is growing at an unprecedented rate right now..go figure.
"Listen" closely to that "pulsating energy", If you get good at it, you might find yourself out of your body. Whether the OBE is real and not just simply the imagination+excitation of certain parts of the brain is still being understood by science.
Have you got this too? It's a great book, I got it a couple of months ago when it came out. I found the things in it worked well for me. My cannabis use is pretty recent and I'm not a big user, but already it's shown me a couple of ways that I was spoiling my highs too. I enjoyed it a lot.
Some good info in the tips. Main things to remember is that you can work in meditation almost anywhere. No need for a strict routine day in and day out. Just discipline yourself while you practice the art.http://www.deep-zen.com

The zone you get into 20 minutes into a long bike ride is pretty sweet too.

Meditation is a practice. If you don't want to, don't. But trust me, it helps.
