The most surprising part of this situation is that it's illegal to grow HEMP in the US!!! But it's fine for stores to sell it; I can walk into Whole Foods or GNC and buy a big can of it that we import from Canada. Canada is smart, this plant has all the benefits of cotton plus it's a much stronger fiber, easier to grow and much more useful as a food product!
I assume you meant "Growing" instead of "Selling"... and ya, it's really lame. It's illegal to grow but produces derived from it are legal to import for personal use or resale.
Legalizing Marijuana is not going to cause gang crimes to go down. You guys are just trying to find excuses to legalize pot because you like to get high. News flash, the drug cartels carry way more than just weed. On top of that, even if it was legalized, it would be taxed so high, the drug cartels would just grow it, and sell it behind the scenes at a lower but still profitable price. Ahh what do you care, you potheads don't know what "Logic" is.
I am actually for legalization of all drugs. It will lower gang violence. News Flash. If I want I can get high any time I want. Even if I get caught with a lawyer at max I would receive probation drugs being legal or illegal does not affect me that much. It does affect minorities who on average are convicted more often and serve longer times in jail. Another thing people are not getting shot in my neighborhood because of the war on drugs. I assume they are not getting shot in your neighborhood also or you would have a different understanding of what life is like in gang run communities. "On top of that, even if it was legalized, it would be taxed so high, the drug cartels would just grow it, and sell it behind the scenes at a lower but still profitable price."Just a question for you. How many people do you know that grow there own tobbacco or grow there own hops to produce alcohol?
The worst part of it is, the government, US GOVERNMENT, holds a patent for the medicinal antioxidant and prophylaxis use of marijuana, with the ability to prosecute anyone growing/infringing on their patent, they really do have the movement at a chokehold.
