"Anguished Parents Sign Consent Forms, Saying They Had No Choice"This girl is 16!! Someone should remind them that they are the PARENTS and she is the CHILD.

Bonnie and Clyde were a severely f**ked-up couple. This is two people who have different ages.

I checked for the laws in North Carolina, and apparently at the age of 16 you can have consensual sex and also leave home - LEGALLY. So as disgusted as anyone else here on Digg may want to be.....fact of the matter is that it's all legal.

I agree with the article, you're not old enough to make that decision at 16, but the picture they're painting is that she can't go to college? Cant be an athlete? Pretty much ruined her life?Thats just plain dumb.

Bad parenting?I could have told you that from the fact they signed a consent form for their sixteen year old to marry a 40 year old man.

I think it's a bit of a double standard, but for some reason I think the Moore/Kutcher thing as a bit more tasteful.
